    peaple who are debating about the referee thing, yes they do have different jobs and names, but they can all throw a flag, so if you want, i guess you can call them all “referees”

    • Umpire
    • Head Linesman

    wrong. There is only one referee. He wears the white had and controlls the game pretty much. The umpire stands behind the linebackers (he gets trucked teh most) and there are line judges and a back judge, etc. But only one referee.

    they just have different jobs and each title is incharge of something different. the umpire stands 5 yards of the liine of scrimage. however, he is still a referee
